Philanthropy and Service
When it comes to Greek life, philanthropy and service are a huge part of our mission statement. Since DePauw's campus is 65% Greek, we have a lot of hands to put to good use. Do to our large size, it is our obligation and mission to give back to the DePauw and Greencastle communities, which we do all throughout the year.
In the fall, we have Greek Week Trick or Treat, which is one night around Halloween when children throughout the Greencastle Community can go around to each sorority house to get candy and play Halloween themed games.
Also in the fall is our month long community service project. Throughout the month, the entire Greek Community comes together to give back to our community by providing service and raising money.
In the Spring, we have one of our largest events, Special Olympics. The Director of Service and Philanthropy works hand in hand with a Special Olympics representative to bring one of the largest all women's Special Olympics basketball tournaments to DePauw's campus. As a Greek community, we cheer on the teams and help run the weekend-long event. It is such a rewarding and inspirational two days and we are proud to call Special Olympics one of our Philanthropies.
